Superstar Showdown Blogs: Yuji vs Denji(Jujutsu Kaisen vs Chainsaw Man)
Superstar Showdown Blogs - Yuji vs Denji (Jujutsu Kaisen vs Chainsaw Man) ‘To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in that suffering.’ -Friedrich Nietzsche Yuji Itadori , the vessel of Ryomen Sukuna and herald of the new era. Denji Hayakawa , eater of devils and the Chainsaw Man. The modern era of manga has defined itself around its protagonists. Now, Yuji and Denji will face off as the pinnacle of this new generation, as we decide who will win a Showdown of Superstars . Before We Start Yuji and Denji are both relatively simple characters with relatively normal media lists. For both, the main manga and anime will obviously be included, even as both series progress. The new JJK spin-off manga Modulo will also be considered, and so will Chainsaw Man's new Reze Arc movie. There are multiple video games, but we wanted to place priority on the source material and the manga. The anime is mostly visual effects and both authors have shown lots of approval to them, but we ...
Pretty well done. I can argue against something:
ReplyDelete>“Can Caine delete things that he hasn’t created?”
>"The main counter you'll hear is that Caine can only delete things (particularly NPCs) he's created and not on anything else, but is this true? Well… [No] For starters, this supposed limitation is entirely headcanon. There's nothing in the series or supplementary material that implies Caine can only delete things he's created."
Yes, actually. From ep 8:
*Pomni: "Uh, Caine's going a bit crazy right now. I-Is there any way to stop him? Or at least control him?"
*Kinger: "I see. He's a highly advanced AI, and this is his world -- one that he created from nothing. So, naturally, he has control over... everything. But so do we."
This establishes Caine to have a higher form of power over things he created when compared to things he didn't create.
Then we have the hacking scene from the same ep, the rules are much the same as in real programming; you need to have the proper authority needed to affect certain things. Coupled with the point before, it makes all the sense in the world that Caine would have so much power over things he creates, and less forms of power over things he didn't create. Let me put it like this: What is Caine's administrative power over his creations? Total. What is Caine's administrative power over the "humans"/the ones he didn't create? Not total, unclear, lesser. As such, his abilities over them are what he has shown to do to them, not his every power in general.
In a way, this ties back to what he comments over not being able to affect minds. He's lying, sure. But he's also being misleading while not intentionally lying. He can affect their minds in limited ways. But with the NPCs he creates? He can affects their minds in any way he wants, deleting memeries, adding fake memories, and making them play roles. That's what Caine sees as controlling minds when casually talking about the topic. In other words, what abilities Caine can and can't use on "humans" is not based on common sense, it's a random based on what the writers felt like with a common rule above all else; Caine has more power over his own creations.
>"In fact, going off of implications we reached the exact opposite conclusion, the series implies Caine isn't limited by anything. Zooble says the only thing holding Caine back is that he likes them"
That would mean nothing in the context of this topic, that just means he's not being mean and cruel to them with his abilities. We all know this based on the info we had of Caine up to that point, and yet you use it to mean that he can do things he hasn't shown. That doesn't track.
(Part 1 of 2)
(Part 2) >"which is MAJORLY supported by episode eight, and he's clearly able to affect the cast with his other abilities, most notably with Mind Manipulation (which was actually implied to have been a limitation before it was revealed to be a lie). Why would deletion be the odd one out here? Why is that the ONLY thing he can't use?"
DeleteCovered before.
>"there is also an example of Caine manipulating the code of something he didn't create. Remember DESTRUCTIVE WACKYTIME? Yeah, Caine manipulated his own code to give himself a lockout system and he obviously didn't create himself."
Most likely correct. However, there is a massive gap between manipulating YOUR OWN CODE, and that of others or others in general. Caine can have the administrative power/authority over himself, I mean who else is going to have that power. Even if inheritedly this is something he should not have, Caine having "the notable, special ability to manipute himself" is not the same as having "the notable, special ability to manipute others", just like a user of Body Control cannot user Biology Manip on others w/o proof. Inheritedly, other entities need to be assumed to be outside of Caine's control, having their own authority outside of Caine's control, even if they can't inheritedly control themselves like Caine can, similar to how a program cannot simply control another program, but can create things, manipulate things it was built to control, and handle itself.
Caine could have also added that defense over time via actual computer programming (be it with his computer or just in his head), not the same as what he can do with his powers with a snap of his fingers.
Caine did absorb that blue AI, but if you were following what I said, that's a power that stands on its own.
