Superstar Showdown Blogs - Yuji vs Denji (Jujutsu Kaisen vs Chainsaw Man)

‘To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in that suffering.’

-Friedrich Nietzsche

Yuji Itadori, the vessel of Ryomen Sukuna and herald of the new era.

Denji Hayakawa, eater of devils and the Chainsaw Man.

The modern era of manga has defined itself around its protagonists. Now, Yuji and Denji will face off as the pinnacle of this new generation, as we decide who will win a Showdown of Superstars.

Before We Start

Yuji and Denji are both relatively simple characters with relatively normal media lists. For both, the main manga and anime will obviously be included, even as both series progress. The new JJK spin-off manga Modulo will also be considered, and so will Chainsaw Man's new Reze Arc movie.

There are multiple video games, but we wanted to place priority on the source material and the manga. The anime is mostly visual effects and both authors have shown lots of approval to them, but we felt the games were too far removed and have elected to exclude them.

As for the characters themselves, an important distinction needs to be made. At this point in the manga, it's possible for Hero of Hell Pochita to exit Denji, but Sukuna is not in Yuji. In other words, Pochita will be considered and Sukuna will not.

Without any more preamble, on with the blog.

Backgrounds

Yuji:

‘I still don't know what it means to die naturally. Until I do, and until I kill that thing, I won't lose anything.’

Yuji Itadori was raised from a young age by his grandfather Wasuke Itadori. Due to suspicion of his mother(who turned out to be a male, thousands of years old, sorcerer, do guess he was right), Wasuke took Yuji and did his best to raise him himself in spite of his old age. Yuji grew up like this, finding friends and enjoying a relatively normal childhood. But eventually Wasuke got terminal lung cancer, and told Yuji to make sure he wasn't alone when he died. Yuji wanted to make sure people got proper deaths, no matter what their lives were like.

However, fate had more plans for Yuji. Yuji's friends from the Occult Club found a special grade item, one of the most dangerous objects in Jujutsu society: one of the 20 fingers of the most powerful sorcerer of history, Sukuna. As Curses attacked his friends and a sorcerer by the name of Megumi tried to help, Yuji realised there was one thing he could do to gain the power to defeat the Curse. He ate the special grade finger and became the new host of Sukuna. Later, after Yuji came to, the strongest sorcerer alive, Gojo, told him something. Due to Sukuna being inside of him, he was going to be executed. He had a choice. Be killed now and rid the world of just one finger, or track down and eat the other 19 so when he died, all of Sukuna was gone. Yuji chose to sacrifice himself after consuming all 20 fingers, taking out Sukuna with him.

Yuji's life was utterly unpredictable for him from then on. He lost and made plenty of friends, defeated Sukuna, and ended the cycle of curses. But it wasn't his end. Yuji had become immortal after eating the Death Painting Wombs, leaving him as the strongest in the future era. But no matter what, Yuji will remain a steady hand, following Gojo's will and stepping in whenever it's truly needed.

Denji:

‘Maybe I became a devil hunter for a really shallow reason, but I’m willing to die to keep living like this.’

Denji grew up in poverty for most of his life. His mom died when he was younger via a heart disease and his dad was so abusive to the point Denji ended up killing him. Denji would've been screwed because of the Yakuza if he didn't end up meeting Pochita, the Chainsaw Devil, who became his best friend and allowed him to pay his father's debt from the Yakuza until they eventually made a deal with the Zombie Devil and killed him. However, Pochita was able to become his heart and bring him back to life as the Chainsaw Man and get revenge on the Yakuza members who killed him and made his life hell. After this Makima took him into Public Safety and introduced him to his found family of Aki and Power.

After defeating several Devils for her in pursuit of her she ended up being the major villain of Part 1 and caused the deaths of Aki and Power to make him become the Hero of Hell because of her admiration for Pochita. Denji ends up beating her by eating her out of love to bypass her contract with the prime minister. For the next year he takes care of her reincarnation, Nayuta, and acts as a hero. He then meets Asa who shares a body with the War Devil, Yoru, and she becomes his main love interest throughout Part 2 with Yoru as the main antagonist. Then a lot happens with the Falling Devil, Chainsaw Man Church, Aging Devil, and Death Devil where his popularity rises and falls a lot, Nayuta dies, and he becomes closer with Asa and chooses to make his own world with her, not going along with the plans of others anymore and making his own choices. With this he fuses with Pochita's true form and becomes Denji Man, likely defeating Yoru and saving Asa in the upcoming chapters.

Skill, IQ and Experience:

Yuji:

  • 68 years as a sorcerer

  • Figured out the inner working of Higuramas Domain and technique

  • Created the strategy to put Sukuna on trial in Higuramas Domain

  • Learned Reverse Cursed Technique, something Gojo struggled to do, in only a month

  • Learned the most supreme art of sorcery, Domain Expansion.

  • Became the greatest sorcerer of the new era

  • Helped Cross bring peace between the Rumelians and humanity with his knowledge on Cursed Energy and Cursed Spirits

Denji:

  • Killed Devils since he was a kid

  • Was Chainsaw Man for 1-2 years

  • Was briefly trained by Kishibe(though it was mainly strength training and strategy)

  • Used a chainsaw leg against Katana Man to cut him without him being aware

  • Submerged Reze in water so she couldn't use her explosions properly

  • Lite himself on fire to counter the Doll Devil's darkness boost

  • Had Pochita create a new body to catch Makima off guard so he could eat her and bypass her contract

  • Cut his break to counter mental attacks against the Falling Devil

  • Cut his own body in half so he could cut the Spear Hybrid

  • Ate flesh in the Aging World so Pochita could regenerate and get him and Asa/Yoru out

  • Forced rock-paper-scissors against Yoru so she couldn't turn him into a weapon

  • Turned Yoru's friends into armor so she would get ragebaited and would hesitate to attack him

  • Used the wording of Yoru's contract so she wouldn't regenerate from self-inflicted damage

Abilities:

Yuji

Cursed Energy Manipulation and Sorcerer Physiology

Yuji possesses a unique and unusual physiology, largely a result of being engineered by the ancient sorcerer Kenjaku to be a perfect vessel for Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses. His body has rare characteristics that defy normal sorcery conditions. Cursed energy is negative emotions transformed into raw energy, which is harnessed by sorcerers to empower themselves. It originates from the gut and flows outwards when consciously willed so by a sorcerer. It is used to hunt curses, which are invisible and sometimes intangible beings created out of pure cursed energy that are described by Kenjaku as existing within a second light the mind cannot comprehend. Various abilities come to all sorcerers, such as massively increasing their physical stats even in a single spot, giving minor protection against soul-based attacks, eroding the minds of non-sorcerers and preventing foreign intrusions to the body.

Sorcerers can even use Cursed Energy to resist mind control, as seen with Gojo escaping Hanami's flower field. Sorcerers can't even be killed without Cursed Energy, as they will return as a Vengeful Spirit if killed without Cursed Energy. As seen with Naoya Zenin, this takes roughly a day. Sorcerers can amplify themselves through negative emotions like anger, fear, or even passion. They can predict the movements of other Cursed Energy manipulators or grow in the middle of battle. Cursed Energy is also inherently more effective on those without it, being able to weaken and ail them and erode both the mind and body.

Cursed Painting Physiology

For Yuji, this connects to his Blood Manipulation after ingesting “Death Painting” wombs. He gains the ability to manipulate blood via cursed energy

Divergent Fist

After a physical punch, cursed energy follows for a delayed second impact effectively two hits

Black Flash

Yuji can trigger cursed energy within one microsecond of a hit, magnifying damage to the power of 2.5(if this sounds like it doesn't make sense, the author agrees). He’s among the few shown to do it reliably, even multiple times in a row, landing 9 total in the fight against Sukuna and 5 in a row against Hanami. As of Modulo, he can casually hit Black Flashes at will.

Blood Manipulation

As the name implies, Blood Manipulation is a cursed technique that allows the user to control and shape their blood beyond its natural form or motion for a variety of effects, It can be used to manipulate every aspect of the user's blood, including blood composition, plasma, and red blood cells, Internal and external blood can be utilized as long as it belongs to the user. Yuji's blood is even poisonous, with his brother Choso using the same technique to incapacitate someone in the middle of a fight.

Dismantle

A slashing attack that can be used through touch or at range against cursed spirits and sorcerers to great effectiveness, like Sukuna, Yuji can deliver this attack through physical contact or a wave. Through a binding vow, Yuji increased the technique's effectiveness at separating souls by narrowing its target to the boundary between Sukuna and Megumi's soul.

Domain Expansion

Hometown Domain: Due to his replacement training with Kusakabe, Yuji learned the basics of barrier techniques, allowing him to cast domain expansion,  Yuji's domain expansion perfectly recreates his hometown, including landmarks familiar to him such as a local statue, a park that he played in, a department store, a farm he visited, etc.. It can even create animals such as crayfish, horses, and geese. The sure-hit effect of this domain attacks Yuji's targets with his soul-rending Dismantle without requiring physical contact. A Domain Expansion is a technique that creates pocket dimension capable of granting a 120% buff to the user and making all attacks guaranteed to hit. Kenjaku and Gojo both refer to them as the supreme art of Jujutsu Sorcery.

New Shadow Style: Simple Domain

An anti-domain technique Yuji learned by switching souls with Atsuya Kusakabe, It is used to disable a domain's guaranteed-hit effect by neutralizing its barrier. Yuji activated it in response to Sukuna's impromptu Malevolent Shrine, allowing him to resist its slashes for almost 99 seconds before finally crumbling.

Reverse Cursed Technique

Within the month before his battle against Sukuna, Yuji learned how to use reverse cursed technique to heal himself. Reverse Cursed Technique is an extremely advanced technique that multiplies Cursed Energy against itself to create positive energy that can heal the body. Yuji is even capable of casually healing entire limbs in the heat of combat.

Denji:

Chainsaws

The Chainsaws he forms after transforming. They’re shown to be able to cut through almost every character in CSM(more on this in Before the Verdicts) and he can form them on any part of his body and when formed on his feet can be used to climb walls and grip onto the ground.

Chains

The chains on his chainsaws and the chains linking his hands to his arms that he's able to detach and use like Spiderman’s webs to swing  and grab his opponents. In his Denji Man form he's able to control their movements telekinetically.

Regen/Devil physiology

He's able to regenerate after drinking blood thanks to being a Devil Hybrid. He's able to regenerate limbs, brain tissue, regenerate from just being a heart, heal from being aged up and turning into a tree, and come back to life and his regen is comparable to Reze's regen who could regenerate from having mold in her body.

Hybrid form

The main form he uses in the series and it has the abilities previously mentioned.

Hero of Hell

The form he takes after his contract with Pochita breaks and Pochita takes over his body and reverts to his original Devil form. Has 4 arms and the ability to erase the concept Devils he's consumed and make everyone forget they existed and as later shown he only needs to eat their heads to erase them as after Denji beats Locust and his guts and blood are all over him but disappear after eating his head.

Denji Man

The form that uses Denji's mind and Pochita's body and power and fuses them into one. Used by him after he realizes his goal and tries to save Asa from Yoru. Has better control over his chains in this form and is stronger than Pochita as when it took 12 hits from Yoru and was barely damaged visually however Pochita lost an arm and was severely damaged after 1 hit(more on this in Before the Verdicts).

Devil pawns

Devils from the Death Devil that he can eat to regenerate and erase concepts. So far Denji has shown to have the Leg, Teeth and Dove Devils with him.

Resistances:

Yuji:

Biological Manipulation: For sorcerers, the inside of the body is a Domain where things can't be manifested.

Fear Manipulation: Yuji can resist being around Curses, which have an aura of fear.

Sickness/Curse Manipulation: Yuji can resist Cursed attacks, which can manifest as ailments that can knock those with low Cursed Energy out.

Mind Manipulation: Weaker sorcerers like Nobara can resist mind control.

Heat Manipulation: Could survive in Jogo's Domain, which can burn sorcerers to ash.

Poison Manipulation: Survived Sukuna's poisons when eating his fingers, this is stated to be something he just resists.

Denji:

Mind Manipulation: Can cut his brain to negate mental attacks as shown in his fight with the Falling Devil.

Soul Manipulation: As shown when the Aging Devil separated Denji and Pochita, they still share a body even when separated, which means even if you separate their souls they'd still share a body.

Heat Manipulation: Denji lit himself in fire and Pochita was able to survive the heat of reentry which can reach temperatures of 5000°F/2760°C and took a point-blank nuke which can reach temperatures of 540000032°F/300000000°C at their cores.

Multipliers and upscaling for Yuji:

Several of the biggest feats in Jujutsu Kaisen are performed in extremely weakened states or by far inferior characters to Yuji at his peak. Yuji's best individual feat, and what is one of the greatest feats overall, is the punch that shattered his Domain, which happened after Yuji had fought and extremely long and difficult battle, to the point where even weaker characters like Todo can harm Sukuna and even tank a Black Flash from him. Sukuna and Yuji were also harmed by Jacobs Ladder to the point where Sukuna was shocked Yuji could follow, even though it was weaker than the one used on Sukuna when he was weakened. But how do we quantify this upscale and is it even valid?

Arguments for:

The answer is Jogo. Jogo is stated to be on the level of 5 finger Sukuna, which is consistent with 8 or 9 fingers being a 'generous' estimate. Jogo should definitely scale to Yuji considering he was stated to be capable of giving Kenjaku a hard time, with Kenjaku being stated to be above characters on par with Yuji when he committed his 9.5 gigaton punch. Keep in mind that Yuji still upscales this even more considering he was severely weakened at the time. Considering Modulo Yuji is on par with Sukuna, that means he should be at least 4 times stronger than Jogo. This means current Yuji should be equal to at least 38 gigatons of TNT.

Arguments against:

The biggest problem with this is the fact that the fingers have no canon increase so any upscaling or multipliers aren’t really reliable, plus it has Jogo at 4x weaker than 20 finger Sukuna and Gojo when they realistically should be stronger by a bigger amount considering how easily they defeated him and didn’t even break a sweat. Also, this method upscaled them by the number of fingers, not the increase between each finger, which means the gap between each finger gets progressively lower which doesn’t make any sense. While this could mean you could argue Yuji upscales even more, the point is that there’s no defined upscale to actually use so using it at all is too unreliable.

Multipliers and upscaling for Denji:

On top of Yuji's multipliers, Denji also has arguments for having multipliers to upscale other feats. In chapter 226 of Chainsaw Man Denji Man takes 12 hits from Yoru’s Gun Gauntlets in a row with only taking little visual damage and Pochita has consistently shown to be damaged by even 1 hit from Yoru’s Gun Gauntlets so you could upscale Denji Man from Pochita by 12 times. There are a couple of problems with this that have caused disagreement among the blog team, so we'll compose another arguments for and against section.

Arguments for:

The arguments in favour of this are pretty clear. Pochita has shown to be consistently harmed by even a single Bang, and Denji Man has much better feats, tanking 12 Bangs with little visual damage during that scene, and with how fast he came out of the water means he likely didn't heal the damage right away, plus he likely didn't have enough blood to heal anyway. This would likely mean that Denji Man is at least 12x stronger than Pochita. If your defense stat doubles in a video game(like Pokemon) you are able to take twice as many hits than usual, it triples 3 times as many hits, you get the idea. Denji taking 12 more hits than Pochita with much less damage means his physical strength and durability should be at least 12x stronger than Pochita.

Arguments against:

The argument that tanking 12 hits means Denji Man is 12 times stronger is inherently a little problematic. These multipliers aren’t based on any in-universe numbers or metric and instead rely on counting different blows. The logic itself doesn't really make sense anyway. For example, if a piece of metal can handle 200 degrees of heat, applying 100 degrees 10 times won't make it 1,000 degrees. Nor does it make it 10 times tougher than metal burnt at 100 degrees. The metal simply wasn’t harmed by any of them because none of them were hot enough. A similar logic can be used for Denji Man. Denji was simply too durable for any of the Bangs to hurt him. And the nail in the coffin? It's entirely possible Denji was healing in between blows, which would lower the counter significantly. Overall, these multipliers use a shaky method with shaky logic that ultimately doesn't make sense with the context of Denji's healing factor.

Yuji's "poisonous" blood:

There have been some arguments of Yuji's poisonous blood countering Denji’s ability to drink blood to regenerate, however the context behind his blood being poisonous makes this argument invalid. After eating the Death Painting wombs Yuji gains the blood of a Curse and human, human blood is poisonous to Curse blood and vice-versa, so when Yuji uses Blood Manipulation and his blood gets into his opponent's blood stream they get poisoned. This got mistaken for his blood being poisonous in general when it's not. So yes, Yuji's blood is technically poisonous however it won't poison Denji if he drinks it.

The nature of Hollow Purple:

The nature of Hollow Purple is a somewhat hotly debated topic in the JJK fandom, with calcs on it ranging massively as a result. As shown earlier, the numbers can range from just a bit over 100 kilotons, or town level...

Up to 600 Petatons. Multi-continental.

All of this depends entirely on how you interpret the nature of Hollow Purple. Infinity, Gojo's other technique, is stated to work at the atomic level, and Hollow Purple is capable of hitting Gojo even through Infinity. Hollow Purple has also been called imaginary mass in both the manga and anime, crediting it being subatomic or atomic erasure. So why isn't Hollow Purple in the high petatons?

Simple, feats > statements. While Hollow Purple is stated to have these effects, we can see that the erasure of things isn’t instant with Mahoraga's wheel chipping before being destroyed, Sukuna and debris both remaining after the Purple, Hanami having bones remain from the area they were hit with Purple, Gojo himself being hit by Hollow Purple and Uraume surviving Hollow Purple. There's a plethora of anti-feats that debunk the idea that Hollow Purple entirely erases matter at a sub-atomic or atomic level. In other words, the highest this feat could scale would be through vaporisation, which gets from 71 to 286 Megatons.

Sukuna splits the clouds over Shibuya:

To put it as simply as possible, this feat is just mathematically wrong. It assumes the cloud is a big ball of water instead of cloud vapour and treats it as vaporisation of said water rather than splitting actual clouds. It makes a few good assumptions like cloud height and a few random ones like viewing distance(the moon is visible so 1km?). More reliable recalcs put this feat at small city level, so country is pretty outlandish. Overall this feat has too many problems in terms of pure math(along with being anime only and 16 times stronger than the next best feat so it’s already under scrutiny), so this feat is invalid.

Uraume creates a snowstorm:

This feat isn't very clear, but... it's Christmas. It's very likely the storm already existed. This feat is way too vague to use, so unless the anime confirms its Uraume's doing, this feat is invalid.

Construction and E=MC^2:

Some people have begun to argue Yorozu creating things via Construction can reach large island or even small country level because Construction creates matter out of pure Cursed Energy, with the calc equating Cursed Energy to regular energy. This is a flawed method for one big reason: consistency.

Using this method gets some absurd feats. Whilst the Yorozu feat itself is consistent with feats from Gojo and Sukuna, this would make Mai in the hundreds of kilotons, a feat severely above the consistent standard. Mai is only grade 3, barely above Miwa. Considering how grades work this would make Mai barely as strong as a grade 2 Curse, barely weaker than a shotgun. Even if you don't buy this system because of other inconsistencies, there are other examples of things made out of pure Cursed Energy.

Following the same logic that gets Yorozu to small country can get Dagon to small planet level, a very obvious outlier. Heck, even Curses are made of Cursed Energy, so a 1kg flyhead would be 20 Megatons of TNT despite being the weakest Curses in the series. Using E=MC^2 for Cursed Energy creation is clearly Invalid.

Black hole shenanigans:

This is a pretty simple feat. Yuki creating it is a hax, and Kenjaku himself states he would’ve died without Anti-Gravity, making a nasty anti-feat to counter it especially when you consider it was nerfed by Yuki and Tengen. Overall, this feat is definitely unscalable for both Yuki and Kenjaku.

Relativistic-FTL JJK:

JJK is a verse with varying speed with Mach 3 being a cap some put on it(despite it making little sense and Gege himself saying so as well), with hypersonic being widely accepted however there are several relativistic to FTL feats so are they valid? Well most of them are. Toji dodging lighting at 0.03c and Sukuna’s movements and his WCS getting to 0.13c and 1.23c respectively are all valid feats and calcs however the 0.33c and 2.3c feats are more questionable and will get their own segments. Plus this is further supported in Modulo with Dabura moving at near-light speeds so it’s not like you can say these are all outliers.

Sukuna “dodging” EM waves:

In chapter 237 Kashimo charges up an EM wave at Sukuna and Sukuna moves out of the way however there are some controversy with this feat as it very well could be aim dodging if you believe the panel was Kashimo holding his hand up to Sukuna while charging it up and Sukuna moved after it was fired however it can also be interpreted as Kashimo starting to fire it and Sukuna dodged it. This really depends on how you view the scene so both verdicts will have differentiating views on the feat, with Yuji’s using it as a high end and Denji’s viewing it as aim dodging.

Sukuna climbs Jacobs Ladder:

Sukuna climbs Jacobs Ladder

Ah yes, the feat that simultaneously collapsed the regular JJK community and the JJK powerscaling community. We still think it’s one of the funniest asspulls in the manga so we’ll have a guilty pleasure for the feat. Setting aside all bias, this feat is pretty interesting to get into.

Is it valid speed-wise?

No, it shouldn’t be. While Sukuna launches the debris himself and the debris does legitimately move that fast, there’s no evidence to suggest that Sukuna himself can move at those speeds. Nobody reacts to the debris while it’s still moving upwards and Sukuna starts climbing the debris after it’s stopped midair. Moving that distance before it could fall is impressive, sure, but not quite a third the speed of light.

Is it valid strength-wise?

The answer is both yes and no.

Mathematically the feat is fine. Newton's law, opposite and equal reaction, launched in tandem with light, yada yada, read the calc itself. The problem with the feat is attempting to determine whether or not the feat is an outlier.

The feat itself reaches 10.35 Teratons, with the next best feats respectively being Gojo's 13 Gigaton earthquake and Yuji's 9 Gigaton Black Flash. These feats are both roughly a thousand times lower than Sukuna's feat, showing that this should clearly be an outlier, right? However, both feats have context to them. Yuji's feat was done while Yuji was extremely weakened after a long and gruelling fight with Sukuna, meaning upscaling is possible. While Gojo creating the earthquake is off-screen, Gojo is visibly unbothered right after, implying he should upscale too.

The thing is, Sukuna himself was even weaker than Yuji, with this taking place near the end of their fight. Narratively it makes perfect sense for the heavy hitters being capable of doing a 9 Gigaton feat while extremely weakened and top tiers being able to perform 13 Gigaton feats casually. Sukuna would be an outlier compared to Yuji struggling to pull off a much weaker feat while both were at similar power levels. While this feat ultimately comes down to whether you feel it's right to count, for the sake of the blog it'll be deemed as an extreme high end/outlier.

MFTL+ Modulo?:

So in the final chapter of Modulo we have one last little thing, that being a statement saying Simuria is hundreds of millions of light years away. Considering the alien ship only took 2 years to reach Earth, that would potentially make the ship millions of times faster than light. So why isn't this usable?

For one, this guy is clearly an unreliable source. He says Dabura fought on behalf of humanity to protect us from Mahoraga, which obviously didn't happen. All the information he had was from an unknown ‘certain source’, and it's unknown how they would discover the distance between Earth and Simuria. Additionally, we don't know if Maru and Cross actually reacted to any obstacles while piloting the ship, so this feat is invalid.

How do Denji's chainsaws work?:

Throughout Chainsaw Man Denji's chainsaws have consistently cut through every single opponent they have touched like butter despite being broken by weaker characters and having trouble cutting through non-organic material. Because of this it can be concluded that they bypass durability however there are arguments against this so this will be split into arguments for and against it.

Arguments for:

In CSM Denji's chainsaws have consistently cut through every character they've touched with exceptions being when a character had a non-organic thing touching him instead like Katana Man's katanas and Darkness Devils barrier. There are also examples of his chainsaws having a hard time cutting through the floor and walls. However they're able to cut through characters like Falling and Aging who are 2 of the strongest Devils in CSM and obviously are way stronger than floors and walls. Because of this it's very likely that Denji's chainsaws bypass durability because otherwise Katana Man's katanas and walls and floors are stronger than both Falling and Aging which doesn't make sense. While there is the counter argument of CSM characters being weak to piercing damage as they do get shot, stabbed, and cut a lot, chainsaws don't do that. They grind against flesh which is none of those things and Denji's chainsaws cut through bone which doesn't have the piercing and cutting weakness that flesh does so it's still more likely they have a magic property that bypasses durability, similar to Yoru's ability to turn things into weapons despite of their size and weight. Also, most of the examples of characters being “weak” to piercing attacks have specific context/reasons that make sense. Aki stabbing Katana Man is because the Curse Devil explicitly helped him while stabbing and Aki cutting Reze is because his sword is made from the Angel Devil, whose weapons are consistently able to harm people way physically stronger than him as shown when his spears stab Reze later in that arc and even Pochita. While there is the example of Makima being shot by normal guns, it's the only example that doesn't make sense so it's likely an outlier only done to show Makima's regen. Obviously this doesn't mean that Denji could cut through characters billions of times stronger than him like Goku, however characters on a similar level, like Yuji, should be fair game as he's not 50+ times stronger even with a Black Flash chain and in his base form Denji’s chainsaws can cut through Falling and Fakesaw Man, both being able to overpower Yoru's attacks with her Gun Gauntlets which use the Gun Devil and can harm Pochita, so they'd scale to the 142-711 Megaton to 11.2-56.2 Gigaton calc, while Denji's physical strength peaks at around 5.4 Megatons via scaling to the Typhoon Devil, so Denji's chainsaws have shown to be able to cut through characters 26-131x stronger up to 2074-10407x stronger than him, and Pochita and Denji Man's chainsaws should upscale from his Hybrid form's chainsaws as they are shown to have higher durability when getting hit, so even if they don’t bypass durability they can cut through Yuji.

Arguments against:

As mentioned in the arguments for section, there is a pretty glaring issue with Denji having durability negation, that being that Chainsaw Man characters have a consistently low piercing resistance. Makima, one of the strongest characters in part 1, was pierced by bullets from regular guns. Aki could pierce Reze and Katana Man despite being ridiculously weaker than them. Unless you wanna argue that Aki's sword is also durability negation, this argument falls apart.

Speaking of Katana Man, both he and Denji are hybrids on a similar level, yet Katana Man couldn't fully cut Aki because of his uniform. We know that he partially cut him, but the fact that he could be stopped shows he can't completely negate durability, and Denji should be the same.

Arguing that because Denji has never failed to cut someone that he must be able to negate durability is an NLF. Denji failing to cut floors or walls is simply because a chainsaw grinds, so when it hits something it'll Kick Back. Overall, the arguments for Denji negating durability fall apart when compared to other characters, and can be applied to other, normal weapons along with being an NLF and an assumption.

Does Yoru's weapon creation scale to her AP?:

There is a lot of discussion around Yoru's recent "feats” of turning Michigan and Oregon into weapons however does this scale to her AP? The simple answer is no. She explicitly only needs to view something as something she owns to turn it into a weapon so it's not like she needs to match its power and the weapons' power is determined by her guilt, not the thing they originally were. Plus the weight of the weapons are consistently shown to be lower than their original weight, primarily shown with her Gun Gauntlets not immediately crushing any furniture they're on so the swords don't weigh the same as the actual states. So Yoru isn't country-planetary.

Relativistic-FTL Chainsaw Man:

There’s 2 relativistic and 1 relativistic-FTL feat in Chainsaw Man so can Denji scale to them(specifically when Pochita takes over and as Denji Man as Hybrid Denji definitely doesn’t scale)? The first one is the Gun Devil travelling from the Soviet Union to Hawaii in 0.4 seconds, which gets to 0.04c. Denji can scale to this as Pochita is explicitly stated to be more feared than it so he should scale above it and Makima was able to severely weaken it and Pochita blitzed her. The second feat is Yoru’s Gun Goddess’ attack travelling from New York to Tokyo East(specifically East because it faced the same direction as the statue, which triples the distance) which gets to 0.19-0.64c. Denji can scale to this as the Aging Devil was fast enough to block it before it hit them and Pochita was shown similar speeds to them. While Pochita himself was hit by it, he wasn’t looking at it until it hit him and was weakened previously. The final feat is the American Flag spear travelling from the moon to Earth which gets to 0.25-1.28c. Denji directly dodges this himself as Denji Man and continues to dodge it after the initial feat. While we don’t see when he moves, considering he was mid air when it destroyed the building, it’s likely he didn’t dodge until it was relatively close to him and it was directly above him so it wasn’t in his line of sight. So, Denji should scale to the relativistic to FTL feats in CSM.

Yoru weapon recalling:

There are several examples of Yoru creating a weapon from far away and the weapon traveling towards her, which usually gets to relativistic, however there's one feat that gets to 84c and its viability is questionable. The main feat in question is when she recalled the Gun and Tank Devils to turn them into gauntlets. Normally you could argue she could scale to her weapons as she actually has to catch them and we see her do it several times, however in this feat we don’t see her catch them so her scaling is questionable, plus it's way higher than any other CSM speed feat so it's very likely an outlier. The calc itself assumes that the weapons moved significantly faster than Pochita anyway, so it's unlikely that Denji could scale to this. While you could use this as an extreme high end, it's very unreliable and won't be considered in the verdicts too much.

Falling Devil Scaling:

The Falling Devil has 2 major feats in the series, one getting to 8.5 Teratons and the other 2.6 Zettatons, however whether or not those feats would scale to Denji is debatable. Both calcs use the Falling Devil's impact to be able to change the gravity of the world, however whether it's applicable to her physical stats or normal attacks it unclear. While you could argue that she's using the same ability when attacking Denji and Yoru, it's unlikely that the amount of force output is the same. While you could use it as a high end, it's more reliable to not use it so it won't have much impact on the outcome.

High end Gun Devil KE:

In chapter 10 the Gun Devil travels from the Soviet Union to Hawaii at 0.04c and using a panel of it in chapter 75 to calc its weight, you can get an estimate of its kinetic energy when it hit Hawaii which gets to 1.7-85 Teratons, however this may be calc stacking as it uses 2 calcs for it so we'll have an arguments for and against section to determine if it's a viable feat.

Arguments for:

Considering that chapter 75 is the first time we see the Gun Devil it should be fair to use it for its weight. The Gun Devil is also shown to pretty consistently ram itself into things while traveling, as shown with how many deaths it caused, so using this method to calc its KE should be fair. While it likely is calc stacking as it uses 2 different calcs 65 chapters away from each other, besides that the calc doesn't really have anything else wrong with it as the feat itself has the speed in the feat and the Gun Devil using its weight to ram into things is a consistent trait of it so the calc should be valid.

Arguments against:

The arguments against this feat are pretty clear and concise. There are 2 calcs involved here that pull from completely different chapters. The weight of the Gun Devil occurs over 60 chapters after the speed feat, and involves 2 completely different calcs. This is the textbook definition of calc stacking. Kinetic energy can be used when the speed and weight are measured in the same instance, like this 85 megaton calc, but that's as far as Gun Devil KE should go. Heck, the Gun Devil literally destroyed itself performing this feat and has only used its kinetic energy offensively at much lower weights and speeds, so even scaling to its maximum kinetic energy is questionable. We've never seen 100% Gun Devil, and if we get a flashback of Gun actually travelling from the Soviet Union to Hawaii like in this feat, or if the Gun Devil gets a canon weight, then it'll be usable. But until then, this is calc stacking for 2 completely unrelated calcs.

Stats

Both Yuji and Denji are at the absolute peak of their verse when it comes to stats, and have an absolute plethora of feats they could potentially scale to. Denji in particular has 4 forms and 3 different sets of stats he can scale to.

Denji’s lower forms aren’t too notable. Denji’s base form should be between 0.00002 and 0.0002 tons of TNT from surviving that explosion and mach 3 through scaling to Angel Devil. Hybrid form Denji on the other hand scales to Typhoon Devil, who created a storm anywhere from 400 kilotons to 5.4 megatons, and scales to Reze seeing explosions in slow motion at mach 858.

Yuji and Denji themselves at their peaks can range decently depending on which ends you prefer.

Low-ends/definitive ends

  • Yuji has a definitive feat of 9.5 gigatons through making the shockwave that shattered his Domain. Pochita taking a hit from Gun Goddess reaches a bare minimum of 2.7 gigatons, making Yuji island level and Denji large mountain.

Using the lowest, definitive ends for both shows that Yuji has a 3.5 times AP gap. This isn't a one-shot by any means, but Yuji still has a pretty decisive advantage. Under this logic, Denji Man and Pochita would be 6,750 times stronger than his hybrid form, meaning Denji’s chainsaws can cut those with a far higher strength gap than the one with Yuji, even if you don't buy his chainsaws having durability negation.

  • In terms of speed, Yuji should be capable of reacting at 1.23 c. While Dabura being unable to hit lightspeed seems like an anti-feat, that's just travel speed. Yuji's reactions should be FTL. Denji’s speed feats are consistently at least relativistic, with Yoru's flag being at least 0.25 c, consistent with Gun Devil being 0.04 c and Gun Goddess being at least 0.19 c.

Speed paints a similar picture to strength, with Yuji taking the advantage and being roughly 5 times faster. Denji has counters to the superior speed of Denji, but those will be covered under arsenals and abilities.

Multipliers

Both Yuji and Denji have arguments for having multipliers that they can scale to to increase their stats. Modulo Yuji can upscale his EOS self by at least 4 times, likely more considering Yuji was weakened for his last Black Flash. The arguments against this rely on the headcanon of Fingers giving different buffs. Not only is this never stated, it would actively make less sense if different fingers gave different increases, and would make Jogo asking about his strength in fingers make no sense. Using this multiplier would put Yuji at 38 gigatons. Denji’s multiplier is less reliable as it doesn't go off of a canon number and uses a somewhat dubious method but if you were to count it, Denji would've been 12 times stronger. This would put him around 32.4 gigatons, making the strength gap only 1.17 times. This might seem like Denji can match Yuji at full power, but Yuji is capable of increasing the strength gap with even more boosts. His Domain is another 120% boost, and every Black Flash is another 120%. Even without his Domain, Yuji only needs 3 Black Flashes to become twice as strong. Considering how casually Yuji can hit Black Flashes in Modulo, the gap will only widen as the fight continues. If Yuji hits 9 Black Flashes like his fight with Sukuna, the gap will become 6 times. Yuji's even better at Black Flashes than before, so it's not a stretch to say he could hit even more. Even using the generous multipliers for Denji, Yuji is initially stronger and will only widen that gap.

High-ends

  • When it comes to strength Yuji can match Dabura moving at near-lightspeed and clocking it at an impressive 15 gigatons if you use higher speeds for Dabura. When crossing into the territory of debatable outliers, he can scale to Sukuna at 10 teratons, an impressively high value. Denji can meanwhile hit as high as 56.2 gigatons, meaning he's stronger than Yuji without outlier but weaker with.

Depending on whether you consider the 10 teraton feat an outlier or simply a high-end, the strength gap can go either way. Though similarly to the multipliers section, if you buy Yuji being weaker he can bridge or even surpass the strength gap through Black Flashes. Denji starts off 3 times stronger, but Yuji only needs 6 Black Flashes to bridge that gap, and can get stronger from there. And with the teraton feats, Yuji is 232.5 times stronger. Ultimately Denji at best has a temporary advantage and at worst is at a severe disadvantage.

  • When it comes to speed, Yuji has a high-end of 2.3 c with debatable aim-dodging feats. Denji also gets a speed boost, with the high-ends of the moon feat reaching 1.28 c if you assume the flag reached Earth in one second.

When giving both leniency, you can see that Yuji once again has a speed advantage, being a bit over twice as fast. This speed gap isn't enough to blitz but it certainly isn't negligible, and will be helpful for Yuji.

Multipliers

As covered before, the multipliers for each are at least 4 times for weakened Yuji and generously 12 times for Denji Man over Pochita. This multiplier wouldn't apply to Dabura, but considering Yuji was on par with Sukuna when he performed this feat he should upscale the 10 teraton feat and clock out at 41 teratons. As for Denji, his 12 times multiplier would apply here and make him 674.4 gigatons. Similarly to earlier Yuji can bridge this gap, but in this scenario if you don't use outliers Yuji needs up to 29 Black Flashes just to match Denji. This isn't impossible to hit, especially with the speed gap, but it'll still need incredible caution before that. Yuji does have experience fighting opponents he can't touch with Mahito, but Denji’s chains will make it difficult.

Overall stats

Throughout low-ends and high-ends, with and without multipliers, Yuji holds the clear advantage. To summarise:

Low-ends, no multipliers: Yuji, 3.5 times gap

Low-ends, with multipliers: Yuji, 1.17 times gap

High-ends, no multipliers, no potential outliers: Denji, 3 times gap

High-ends, no multipliers, potential outliers: Yuji, 230 times gap

High-ends, multipliers, no potential outliers: Denji, 11.2 times gap

High-ends, multipliers, potential outliers: Yuji, 61.42 times gap

Yuji takes 4 out of 6 possible ends, holding the biggest gaps(240 times at best) and holds the advantage in the most definitive categories. This also assumes that their multipliers are equitable when Yuji's are not just more reliable but likely a lowball. And on top of that, Yuji can grow or shrink the gap through his Domain and Black Flashes. In terms of speed:

Low-ends: Yuji, 4.92 times gap

High-ends: Yuji, 1.8 times gap

Once more, Yuji can grow the speed gap the more hits he lands and the longer the fight goes on. If you give uneven leniency and give Yuji his low-end but Denji his high-end they're equal at best.

Overall, Yuji holds a fairly consistent stat advantage. Strength-wise there's leniency to be made and Denji can hold an advantage depending on what ends you give. But Yuji has the undeniable speed gap and can bridge the gaps available no matter what end you give. Stats go to Yuji.

Abilities

While stats are definitely important, in this matchup the hax and abilities of both are arguably just as if not more important. Both have some impressive hax that can carry them to a victory. To categorise this, we created a chart to demonstrate the hax and counters both have for each other.

Yuji hax

Denji counter

Denji hax

Yuji counter

Blood Manipulation

Drink it for healing

Regeneration

Soul attacks, Dismantle AOE

Mind erosion

Chainsawing his brain(see Falling Devil fight)

Chainsaw durability negation

Reverse Cursed Technique or CE armour

Returning as a Cursed Spirit

Not combat applicable in the first place due to timeframe

Chains

Break free through brute strength

Cursed Energy diseases

Regeneration

Leg Devil

Spam ranged attacks

Shrine

Regeneration, throwing away his heart for AoE attacks

Conceptual erasure

None

Domain Expansion

None

Soul attacks

None

Reverse Cursed Technique

Lethal attacks to the brain

As you can see, both have counters to a majority of the others hax. Not all of these wincons or counters are 100% reliable, however. Yuji losing his legs will have a major mobility disadvantage even if he can still attack, for example. For Yuji to win this, one major question remains. Can Yuji actually kill Denji? Surprisingly, the answer is yes. Yuji has a near sure-fire way to kill Denji, that being his soul slashes.

Against Mahito, Yuji could not only one-shot his soul, but eviscerate Mahito's recreation of Shibuya when it was all made of soul material. This shows Yuji is capable of destroying souls MUCH bigger than Denji, and whether you believe that the soul is tied to physical durability or entirely separate, Yuji would still be able to destroy Denji's soul in a single blow, bypassing his regeneration. Even if Denji somehow had a way to avoid this, his Domain Expansion would ensure Denji had no way to avoid him.

Denji’s only wincons are eating Yuji(extremely unlikely considering the speed and range gap) or landing a lethal blow to the head. Yuji's wincon is instant and shown in Modulo to be something he'll go for immediately, meaning Yuji definitely holds the advantage. Abilities go to Yuji.

Tertiary factors

Yuji and Denji are far closer in terms of tertiary factors, with each holding different categories.

Stamina: Clear Denji advantage. Denji has fought for 3 days straight when he had a constant blood supply and as Pochita, could fight Yoru so long the bystanders were getting visibly tired of the fight. Yuji's incredible tenacity and Black Flash reducing CE usage would be incredibly helpful for keeping up, but Yuji had limits and Denji practically didn't.

Experience: Yuji is in his 80s as of Modulo, while Denji is still only 17. While Denji can fight characters that could presumably be centuries or millennia old, their experience is held back by the fact that, judging by Nayuta and Power, Devils lose their memories and experience after reincarnation. The oldest thing in CSM that Denji has outsmarted is the Aging Devil. Considering they're a Primal and have never died, that would make them as old as the fear of Aging itself, meaning Denji can outsmart beings as old as humanity itself. Yuji has more skill and ability in Jujutsu than Kenjaku, who we know was around and met people during the Civil War of Wa, which was in the year 180. While Yuji has more direct experience, Denji has kept up with beings as old as humanity. It's safer to call this category a tie.

Skill: Pretty obvious Yuji point. Yuji actually uses martial arts to fight, but Denji just swings his chainsaw, man. Not to say Denji fights like an idiot, of course, but Yuji uses skill and is the only sorcerer capable of actually landing Black Flash at will.

IQ: A clear Yuji point. Yuji received a full schooling education up to 16, while Denji has only recently learnt to read as of part 2(and don't cite Yuji counting on his fingers, that's a gag and doesn't even prove anything)

BIQ: Arguably the most important one, this pretty clearly goes to Denji. Yuji’s biggest brain moment is figuring out he could retrial to catch Sukuna with Higurama. This took him time to think of, while Denji has come up with consistently smart plays on the spot. Denji clears this.

Overall Yuji holds more advantages in terms of tertiary factors, but Denji holds arguably much more important ones. Considering the split of quality vs quantity, it's ultimately better to give the win to quality. Denji takes tertiary factors.

Overall

This battle is easily the closest we've covered here, but we believe Yuji should take the cake.

To start off, Denji needs high-ends to win. With low-ends and if you include the extreme high-end, Yuji is faster and stronger and can annihilate Denji with his soul cutting Dismantles before he gets close.

But what if Denji is stronger?

Yuji would still have a wincon of destroying his soul, and the ability to catch up with Black Flashes. Denji is 3-18 times stronger depending on which ends you use. If you buy him being 3 times stronger, Yuji would only need 6 Black Flashes to close the gap. Considering he can use them at will in Modulo, that would be a very achievable goal where he only needs 6 blows. The highest gap Denji can have is being 18 times stronger, but Yuji's slashes against Mahito have visibly way more than 18 slashes and these are all unhealable. He did this immediately and can do it at a range, so it's entirely possible for Yuji to slash down Denji before he even gets close.

Can't Denji win with one hit?

Yuji's Reverse Cursed Technique shows he can heal any damage not done to his head or neck. While in Modulo he struggled with organ damage, he was inexperienced and likely far better now. If you don't wanna rely on that assumption Yuji has fought battles without getting touched before(Mahito) so given he is at least equal in speed he should be able to evade that hit and annihilate Denji’s soul.

Can Denji still win if he's weaker?

Of course, but it'll be way harder. Denji can cut Yuji, so he only needs 1 blow to the head or neck to win. Still though, Yuji is much faster and stronger when you use low-ends or outliers, so Denji landing that one hit before Yuji annihilates him with Dismantle is way less likely.

What if you use the Gun Devil highest ends?

The Gun Devil can reach 138 teratons with his highest possible ends. This is, quite literally, textbook calc stacking. Even if you're this generous, similar leniency means Yuji is 10 teratons, an impressive but far weaker amount. It means Yuji will need to slash Denji 14 times before getting hit lethally, basically making it the same as whenever Denji is stronger, just far harder for Yuji. Winning wouldn't be impossible, but it would be pretty unlikely.

Can Yuji win without Modulo?

To be honest, no. The absolutely monumental buffs Modulo gives really help Yuji, from quadrupling his stats to massively buffing how good his hax is, Yuji would be fighting an uphill battle without it. He'd lose a decent chunk of his advantages, most of all his soul-cutting Shrine no longer being ranged, hurting Yuji hard. It's not impossible for him to win, but he'd need to hammer Denji's soul up-close without any lethal attacks hitting and would be absolutely boned in the high-end scenarios. Low-ends would be easier on him, but it would still be the fight of his life.

What if we included extra material like Phantom Parade?

This would severely increase Yuji's chances of winning. Denji doesn't have any extra material to help him here, while Yuji would scale to Gojo's 607 gigaton Hollow Purple and gain a definitive strength advantage.

Yuji

Until recently, I thought life was about understanding your role, and trying to fulfill it. If I had died doing that, I could say I died a good death. But now I don't think that's right. Just walking your dog and raising your family are also decent roles. Even if all you do is eat and sleep all day, or lie sick in bed, or don't interact with anyone and leave nothing behind, instead of memories giving value to your life, small fractions of memory are out there anyway, floating around and giving your life value.

Advantages:

  • Stronger 4/6 times

  • Faster no matter what

  • Could destroy Denji's soul to negate his regeneration

  • Could guarantee hits with Domain Expansion

  • Was always able to get stronger even if he was weaker

  • More range

  • More skilled, experienced and educated

  • Is in Fortnite

  • JJK openings

  • Best little brother in the world

Disadvantages:

  • Weaker 2/6 times

  • Still vulnerable to Denji’s chainsaws

  • Less BIQ and stamina

  • Would be severely nerfed if Denji ate the Leg Devil

  • Far inferior healing

  • Let a cancer patient fight Dabura

  • Fandom is a prison

Denji

Some smart-sounding Devil told me not to screw up my next choice. A bunch of folks tried to seduce or persuade me until one way or another, but I just figured it all out now. This is a message from Pochita to me. Our dream is to lead a normal life. I'm s'posed to choose between Yoru's world or Lil D's but we wouldn't be able to live a normal life in either one! That’s what Pochita is trying to tell me! He's saying “Let's make our own world!” I'll invite you to our world too, Asa! We're fellow parent killers, after all!

Advantages:

  • Stronger 2/6 times

  • Far better regeneration

  • Superior BIQ and stamina

  • Yuji is severely nerfed by the Leg Devil

  • Can still kill Yuji with a blow to the head or neck

  • Best big brother in the world

Disadvantages:

  • Weaker most of the time

  • Slower

  • Less skilled

  • No counter to soul damage

  • Less range

  • Chronic fumbler

  • Fandom is a prison

Team Denji

Let's start off with stats. Obviously Hybrid Denji gets stomped by Yuji so we'll discuss Denji’s stats as Denji Man as it’s his strongest form. For speed, their hypersonic-relativistic feats lean towards Denji as its Mach 21-284-932 vs Mach 81-639-4600 and 0.03c-0.13c vs 0.04-0.64c, however their best speed feats(that aren’t invalid) are tied as its 1.23c vs 1.28c, so speed is either tied or leans towards Denji. Now for strength it’s tricky so let’s go between their ranges and compare them. For city block level feats Yuji barely takes it as it’s 114 Tons vs 91 Tons, for low end town level feats Denji takes it as it’s 3 Kilotons vs 34 Kilotons, for high end town-low/mid city level feats Yuji takes it as it’s 832 Kilotons-79.5 Megatons vs 413 Kilotons- 5.4 Megatons, for high Megaton feats Denji takes it as it’s 143-286 Megatons vs 301-711 Megatons, for low Gigaton feats Yuji takes it as its 4.9-9.5 Gigatons vs 2.7 Gigatons, for higher Gigaton ends Denji takes it as it’s 13-15 Gigatons vs 43-56 Gigatons, and for inconsistent/outlier feats Denji takes it as its 152 Gigatons-10 Teratons vs 1.7-138 Teratons. So who's stronger is based on interpretation with Yuji taking 3 ends and Denji taking 4 ends. Both have multipliers, however the highest feat that Yuji’s multiplier applies to is 9.5 Gigatons while Denji’s multiplier applies to all of his feats, also its 4x vs 12x so if you use them Denji is stronger even in most of the ends Yuji takes the advantage in. However both have ways to negate the other being stronger, Yuji with Black Flash chains and Denji with his chainsaws. Yuji's max Black Flash chain in canon is 9 and each one gives him a boost of 1.2x(as shown when him, Todo, and Mahito were at 120% in Shibuya after landing Black Flashes) so he'd get a total boost of 5.15x while as stated in the BTV section for Denji's chainsaws, they can cut through characters 26-131x up to 2074-10407x stronger than him. This means Yuji can contend with characters 5.15x stronger while Denji can contend with characters 26-10407x stronger, giving the attack potency edge to Denji. Also Yuji needs to constantly land Black Flashes to get his power boost while Denji always has access to his chainsaws. Overall for stats, speed is equal or leaning to Denji, strength is based on what ends you buy for them but leaning Denji, potential multipliers help Denji more, and attack potency/the max amount stronger they can fight goes to Denji, so stats goes to Denji.

Next is tertiary factors. Yuji is more skilled as he has better training  and is more experienced as he has 60+ years of experience as a sorcerer thanks to Modulo's timeskip. Denji is a lot more creative and is better at coming up with plans on the fly and figuring out weaknesses while Yuji mostly relies on others for his plans and has better stamina as Yuji has a limited amount of Cursed Energy than he can constantly lose throughout the fight while Denji has multiple ways to regain blood like drinking Yuji's blood by biting him or when Yuji uses Blood Manipulation and eating the Devil Pawns Death gave him. So both take 2 advantages each however not each advantage is equal in value and usefulness. Yuji may be more skilled however punching better doesn't really matter in this fight as both have defeated characters more skilled than them and his better experience doesn't matter when Denji has fought/outsmarted opponents 100-1000 years old, vastly surpassing Yuji's age gap. However for Denji, his battle IQ can allow him to come up with a plan to win first and his better stamina can allow him to outlast Yuji's Cursed Energy, which he needs for all of his abilities and his stats. Overall, Denji's advantages are just better than Yuji's, so tertiary factors go to Denji.

Finally, abilities. Yuji has Black Flash, soul punches, Dismantle, Soul Dismantle, Blood Manipulation, RCT, and his Domain while Denji has his chainsaws, chains, Devil Pawns, and regeneration so since Yuji has more abilities he should win right? Well no. Denji has counters for a lot and his abilities are better suited for allowing him to win. Blood Manipulation gets countered by Denji drinking blood to regenerate as Yuji's blood is only poisonous when it gets into someone's blood stream, not if they drink it and his regen can negate its poisonous effects if it gets into his blood stream. Denji's regeneration counters RCT as it's better than it in every single way as regenerating from a heart is way better than not fully healing a wound, plus RCT has a weakness of not working if the brain is cut, which Denji's chainsaws can do. Regular Dismantle also gets countered by Denji's regen pretty easily as he can just heal from the cuts. Soul Dismantle wouldn't be able to separate Denji and Pochita as they're physically bounded to each other as Pochita is literally Denji's heart and if Yuji separated their souls, it'd just break their contract as that's what binds their souls which would just cause Pochita to take over. This is supported by when the Aging Devil sent Denji to their world and their bodies were still linked despite their contract breaking and their souls being in 2 different places, it also supports that to separate their souls you have to break their contract. Black Flash is inferior to Denji's chainsaws in AP as stated previously and can be countered by Denji tying Yuji up with his chains. While Denji doesn't have counters to Yuji's Domain preventing him from dodging and the soul punches bypassing his regen, it's only 2 advantages compared to Denji’s 5 counters and ability to end the fight with 1 solid hit from his chainsaw. Plus Yuji's soul punches are congruent with the damage he does to their body so he'd have to normally overpower/kill Denji to win. It's not like Yuji directly bypasses durability and targets Denji's soul, it's more so like Yuji damages Denji's body and that damage also happens onto his soul, which only prevents him from regenerating. Still useful considering how much Denji consistently uses his regen during fights however it isn't a battle ender. Yuji needs to land several hits to win while Denji only needs to land 1. Overall Denji's counters means abilities goes to Denji.

Overall, Denji takes all 3 categories. His better AP, superior battle IQ, better stamina, and several counters means he'd take the win. Yuji put up the fight of his life and could win in certain scenarios, however Denji's advantages are just too much for Yuji to reliably handle and his wincons are just easier to pull off. Denji just needs to get close and land one solid hit while Yuji needs to primarily use his soul damaging attacks and constantly hit him before Denji closes the gap with his chains or movement speed. Denji’s wincon is just more likely and easier for him to pull off. The winner is Denji, the Chainsaw Man.

Blog Updates

Hey y’all! StoryDove here! Just dropping this sick blog with some updates on how the blogs are going to be. There isn’t a next time for this because, the way SS Blogs work is that the blog team members request and/or pitch a blog idea, and if at least 1-2 other members are ok with it, we do it. So as of right now it’s very unclear what our next mainline blog is going to be, since as of right now, we have over 4 in production all at once.

We’re doing something new and making SS Blogs lore! It’s just a little story segment at the end of each blog, like an installment in a series.  There will be next times revealed in their subtlety, but we can’t promise a next time every story segment.

The Gumball character analysis is undergoing a bit of a revamp since our team and I are adding some newly found info in it. Expect it to come out on Blogger soon. We’ve made the choice NOT to add AshYugi onto Blogger, so don’t expect that to come out on here. But the docs for both are still up and still going to be up when the blogs come out on blogger. Comment down below if you want us to release the docs alongside Blogger. Anyway, to the aftermath!

Aftermath

I piloted the ship as fast as I could to the dimension. I wasn’t too sure about what was going on recently. Ever since Monday, a cosmic entity seemed to have started fights across the Storyverse. It’s always the same thing, two or more characters randomly get into a fight. By the time I get there, things are too late. The loser is defeated and the winner gets teleported somewhere.

It’s so confusing. It’s recently happened to me and my team! Monokuma and Korosensei duked it out, and before you know it: Monokuma was there with no memory of what happened and Korosensei was dead. Strangely, when I came back to reinvestigate, Koro was gone without a trace.

I’m closer to this storyline, so if I hurry, I can hopefully make it. It seems to be tracked from an unknown dimension in between the Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen storylines. Me and my crew dropped off there as soon as possible. It was too late. Yuji was dead.

Denji stood over him, saddened and confused before backing away from the body as a bolt of energy slammed upon Yuji’s body blasting him into…...critters? The little critters each had little name tags on them, as sort of a representation of them. The fast one has Speed as their tag, the one with the gun tag has a gun, etc.

All of these creatures then turned to a giant creature above them all. It didn’t fully look human but it had humanoid aspects. Its body seemed to have 8 visible limbs, its face covered in purple, toxic liquid sliding across its body. It was huge. It opened its mouth which seemed to have a portal in it. Before I could fully see what’s inside, Denji leaped towards it, slashing at its limbs. “To hell with you!”, he screamed.

He slashed at the arms of the creature who barely changed its expression, within a 100th of a second, the creature flicked him away at mach speeds. The ground shook from the shockwaves, the planet we were on cracked, and the dust blinded my eyes. Suddenly, the light showed up again but with something entering it instead. It was the critters! In a flash, they were all gone, much to Denji’s dismay. Denji wasn’t so good after the attack.

Rips all over his small body, cracks on his head. Screaming in pain, he struggled to get up before more cosmic creatures came out from the many cracks. I panicked and carried Denji into the spaceship just before the big creature reached for the ship. “LEAVE HERE! GO, GO, GO, JUST GO!”, I yelled. My crew pulled the lever and powered up what little energy they had and zoomed away from the storyline.

As some of my crew carried Denji away to help him recover as he was on the verge of death, I looked out the window. The creatures watched the ship go into a cross2-zone and followedus subtly. We didn’t have enough power to run from them for long. But we could hide. I noticed a paper stuck in between the ship entry door and the wall far back, which seemed very old. Must have been dropped by the creatures before I could ask somebody to get it, it fell out of the little gap and into sub-space. “Aw shucks.”, I said.

Sighing, I grabbed a beer and started chugging as much as I could. “These few weeks have been rough,”. I turned to my side and noticed Pilot Selina sitting next to me. “Aren’t you supposed to be piloting!?”, I yelled.  “Relaxx, I got Dante to pilot for us.”. I shimmered down and went up to the main pilot room to check up on Dante, who was slacking off as usual. His posture straightened up when he noticed me in the corner of the room. “H-hey boss.”

“Just call me Captain.” I told him. “What were you doing just now?”, I asked him. He thought for a second before saying, “Chilling. You? Are you finally going to do your taxes?” he said. I looked away. He was too reckless as of now. I wish he could take things more seriously, but this is what I get for signing up for this spaceship 2-year plan. I was the captain for the next 12 months. I needed to make the most of it, which I wasn’t doing well at the moment. Just then the ship was moving at dangerously high speeds into a hyperspace. Not what we like. “TURN THE SHIP THE OTHER WAY!”, I yelled. But it was no use. Dante wasn’t piloting it. He scrambled to pull the spaceship out of the hyperspace but it was too late. We had already rocketed through the portal and into another storyline. Just before we did so, Dante was embracing the unknown. A bit too much. This could be any series.

I tried to eject everyone out of it, but everybody but me seems to know “Enter a hyperspace, never find an exit.”. Two cosmic creatures tried to follow us but were too big. They were communicating in a gibberish mix of English. They seemed to be planning to travel to the other side. I could only hope it would go well.

Over on the now destroyed storyline, a paper mysteriously gravited to a nearby storyline but ended up on a piece of writing debris. Resting there, for somebody to find. Its writing looked like gibberish, but hopefully it would have meaning. What did the paper say however? Only time would tell. A few critters who had survived the attack rested on that piece of debris and gave it a look. Much to their horror, it was a key. A puzzle piece, Something only the cosmic creatures would read. A mysterious triangle in a top hat rested on it with images circling it. Whatever could it mean? Suddenly, they heard growling. They were sucked up into the portal by a cosmic creature. It looked at the image and grinned, knowing its time had come. It was time, for a massacre.
